The International Federation of Marfan Syndrome Organizations (IFMSO) has launched its web site in order to serve people with the Marfan syndrome around the world. The website contains contact information for Marfan organizations around the world and also an e-newsletter.
In 2003, John Ritter — beloved actor, husband, father, and friend — was taken suddenly due to an acute thoracic aortic dissection which was tragically misdiagnosed. Weeks after his death, his wife and fellow actor Amy Yasbeck founded The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health with a focused and urgent purpose to prevent unnecessary suffering caused by aortic dissection.
The Montalcino Aortic Consortium (MAC) formed in 2013 around the need for international cooperation in the study of human diseases, largely determined by variation in genes, that affect the aorta and its major branches.
The THINK AORTA campaign aims to raise awareness and improve diagnosis of Aortic Dissection worldwide. This life-saving campaign is being rolled-out around the world and will be launching in Canada soon!
The Marfan Foundation is a nonprofit organization that saves and improves lives while creating a community for all individuals with genetic aortic and vascular conditions, including Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, and Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndromes.
